CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Company Overview
Our client, a Karachi-based company, seeks to appoint experienced and seasoned professionals for its Legal
Department. The professionals should be able to provide proactive, high-quality advisory services and risk
assessment in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. The DGM position will report to the
Head of Legal and will work closely with all other functions laterally.
DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER LEGAL – CORPORATE
& REGULATORY AFFAIRS
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure Legal risks to the Company’s functions are proactively identified and, where appropriate, mitigated
or minimized;
• Provide legal assistance on all oil/gas infrastructure projects, licensing and franchising arrangements;
• Provide legal advisory on real estate transactions, shipping and international trade;
• Provide support on legal perspective of new business propositions, structure joint ventures/partnerships;
• Provide legal opinions on matters pertaining to procurement and banking/financing arrangements;
* Overview all employment/labor law matters and draft/vet agreements, deeds and other instruments;
Support the implementation of compliance programs and supervise team of lawyers;
• Provide legal support to the senior management and Board of the company;
• Appear before quasi-judicial/regulatory forums, submit representations and safeguard company’s interest.
Education:
* The candidate must have a Law Degree from HEC recognized Law School/University. Solicitor, Bar-at-law,
L.L.M. or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience:
■ Preferably 8-10 years of professional experience, in a large national/multinational organization with 5-7
years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position or in a middle management
position.
Requirements:
• Experience of working at a regulatory organization will be an added advantage.
Drafting and interpretational skills are key factors of the professional experience for the role.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills are vital for success in this role.
• Maintain professional discretion with sensitive and highly confidential information at all times.
Age
• The candidate should preferably be not more than 45 years of age as of the last date of submission of
application.
JUNIOR MANAGEMENT POSITION – LEGAL
Key Responsibilities
. To handle and monitor litigation cases before different courts/forums of law through external counsels,
review the pleadings before filling for the courts and maintain the status of court cases and follow with the
external lawyers
* To vet agreements, MOUS, Addendums etc. and other legal documents and render legal opinion in the
matter, if required
• To provide legal advisory services and other required legal assistance to the departments on their different
legal issues after review of Inquiry Reports, Charge Sheets, Show Cause Notices, Court Orders and other
relevant documents
• Review all relevant contracts, agreements, letters, proposals etc. to ensure compliance to the prevailing
laws and regulations, and raise issues that may have legal and statutory implications to the Company
* Keep abreast of legal and statutory development pertaining to the business of the Company, update and
advise the supervisor accordingly
Education:
* The candidate must have a Law Degree from HEC recognized Law School / University. Solicitor, Bar-at-law,
LL.M. would be an added advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization
with at least 1-2 years of related functional experience in a similar role at a senior equivalent position or one
position below.
Requirements:
* Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to work independently with excellent
interpretation and drafting skills
* Excellent presentation, problem solving and decision-making skills
Age
* The candidate should preferably be not more than 33 years of age as of the last date of submission of
application.
