CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) is mandated to provide policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power
Division), integrated planning of the Power Sector of Pakistan, development and implementation of strategic plans for the power sector, and
to administer, monitor, and evaluate the performance of Power Sector Entities under the approved policies/plans. The company is seeking
applications to engage the services of following Management Trainee Officers (MTOS) in following disciplines:
i.
i)
Management Trainee Officer (MTO) Data Science:
Responsibilities:










ii)
Assist in the deployment of machine learning models and Al solutions under
supervision, particularly for predictive analytics and process automation.
Support the data engineering pipeline by cleaning, preprocessing, and validating
large datasets to ensure high-quality input for Al models.
Help in fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) and implement Generative Al
workflows (such as RAG) to enhance internal knowledge management.
Draft and format technical documentation, including model performance reports and
algorithm specifications, incorporating feedback from senior data scientists.
Prepare data visualizations and briefs for ongoing projects, translating complex
model outputs into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to exploratory data analysis (EDA) by identifying patterns, trends, and
anomalies in organizational data.
Coordinate with IT and functional departments to gather data requirements and
ensure the seamless integration of Al tools into existing workflows.
Assist in monitoring model performance in production, helping to identify drift or
retraining needs to maintain accuracy and fairness.
Participate in Workshops, and R&D sessions to stay at the forefront of emerging Al
technologies and frameworks.
Stay updated on Al ethics
Estimate key economic parameters to inform policy recommendations.
Maintain and update an economic database for decision-making.
Analyze economic trends impacting the energy industry and conduct forecasting.
Conduct research using survey data and provide policy insights.
Review and assess academic literature to enhance modeling and analysis.
Contribute to policy briefs, reports, and research papers.
Manage tasks effectively and maintain productive working relationships.
Management Trainee Officer (MTO) Economics:
Responsibilities:

Assist in economic and policy analysis related to the power and energy sector under
supervision.
Support preparation of analytical notes, policy briefs, and research papers on
electricity markets, tariffs, subsidies, and sector performance.
Assist in data collection, cleaning, and basic analysis of power sector indicators,
including generation mix, demand forecasts, and cost structures.
Contribute to cost-benefit analysis, financial and economic feasibility assessments
of energy projects and policy initiatives.
Assist in monitoring and evaluation of power sector entities and programs against
approved plans and targets under supervision.
Support preparation of presentations, reports, and dashboards for senior
management.
Coordinate with internal departments to gather economic and financial inputs for
planning and policy work.
Participate in training sessions, workshops, and meetings to gain exposure to power
sector policy & planning, regulation, and economic analysis.
Management Trainee Officer (MTO) HR:
Responsibilities:





Assist in managing HRIS Module of ERP, Payrolls and Leave Management.
Assist in Performance Appraisals and reviewing Performance Management Cycles.
Assist in reviewing and updating job descriptions and company policies.
Provide support in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate
screening, and interview coordination.
Support the coordination of training sessions, workshops, and employee
development programs.
Support initiatives aimed at boosting employee morale and fostering a positive
workplace culture and contribute creative ideas to enhance team-building activities
and recognition programs.
Carryout research to identify industry best practices and recommend improvements.
Maintain and update employee records, personal files, and HR databases to
promote digital and paper less environment
Development of presentations, reports and orientations pertaining to HR functions
and support functions
Coordinate with different departments for HR-related matters.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
General Conditions:
Qualifications & Skills:

At least bachelor’s degree in data
science, computer science, electrical
engineering, or a related field from a
recognized institution. Strong analytical
skills with a collaborative mindset.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern
AI/ML frameworks.
Qualifications & Skills:
At least a Bachelor’s degree in
Economics, Energy Economics from a
HEC-recognized institution.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel
and PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical
software (e.g., S and R) will be an
advantage.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Ability to work
collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor (04 Years) / Master’s Degree in
Human Resource, Business
Administration or related fields with
relevant specialization from HEC
recognized / affiliated institute/university.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel
and Word)
Good written and verbal communication
skills
A minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 4.00 out of 5.00 or 80% marks (for local graduates) and 65% marks (for foreign graduates) is
a requisite for the degree on which the candidate may apply and such degree shall not be issued later than three (3) years from the
date of advertisement. Fresh Graduates from reputable universities are encouraged to apply.
Any candidate possessing foreign degree has to produce equivalency from HEC/PEC.
The maximum age limit is 30 years as of the closing date of the advertisement. No age relaxation will be permitted.
iv. The selected candidate will be offered a remuneration package of Rs.100,000/- per month on a lump-sum basis.

The candidate will be initially engaged for a period of one year. Thereafter evaluated through a comprehensive process for selection as
Assistant Specialist / Assistant Manager in the relevant field, subject to availability of the post in the company otherwise the contract will
automatically stand terminated.
