POSITION IN GENERAL INSURANCE SECTOR
National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a premier public sector organization and a leading
name in Pakistan’s General Insurance industry, invites applications from accomplished,
result-oriented, and dynamic professionals for the following Karachi-based contractual position:
General Manager (Business Development): Age: Maximum 45 Years (1 Vacancy) Duty Station: Karachi
Eligibility Criteria:
The ideal candidate must possess:
A Master’s degree or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an HEC-recognized local or foreign
university Institute in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline OR Professional
insurance qualifications such as ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute), FCII, or other recognized
national or international insurance degrees/certifications shall be considered a strong advantage and will be
given preference.
⚫minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, including at least five (5) years in the insurance
sector industry.
⚫ Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with proven leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager (Business Development – Private Sector) will
be primarily responsible for leading, expanding, and strengthening NICLS private sector insurance portfolio. Key
responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Formulating and executing short-term and long-term private sector business development strategies in line
with NICL’s mandate and corporate objectives.
Identifying, developing, and securing private sector corporate, commercial, SME, and selective retail insurance
business, with a focus on profitability and sustainability.
• Developing private sector business through direct insurance, co-insurance, consortium, and facultative
arrangements.
• Identifying new market opportunities, emerging sectors, and innovative insurance solutions within the private
sector.
⚫ Building and maintaining professional relationships with private sector clients, brokers, and market participants.
• Preparing business development plans, financial models, and strategic assessments to support management
decision-making related to private sector growth.
• Monitoring market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry developments relevant to private sector
Insurance business.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance frameworks in
all business development activities.

Mode of Employment:
This is purely a contractual position with an open-ended contract; the services will be governed by the terms
and conditions of the contract.
