The Planning Commission is seeking dynamic professionals to fill key position in Member (Food Security &

MEMBER (FOOD SECURITY & CLIMATE CHANGE)
QUALIFICATIONS, ELIGIBILITY AND SHORTLISTING CRITERIA
A Ph.D or a Master’s degree in Agriculture Engineering/Agriculture / Forestry / Veterinary Sciences/Animal
Husbandry/Environmental Sciences/Environmental Policy/Climate Change & Sustainability/Food Security/
Sustainable Development/Public Policy/Public Administration with subject specialization in the relevant field.
Experience

At least 14 years of experience including 5-8 years of managerial/administrative experience at policy-making
level (for Ph.D holders), or
At least 18 years of experience including 5-8 years of managerial/administrative experience at policy-making
level (for Master’s degree holders).
TERMS OF REFERENCE (TORS)/JOB DESCRIPTION
Policy recommendations to ensure food security for Pakistan and improve rural economy
Possess all-round knowledge of policies and/or research relating to Agriculture, food security and climate
change at the national and international level.
Demonstrates a track record of successful implementation of projects & programs in the relevant sector.
Verifiable experiences of Agro-based industries development and creation of food chain.
Knowledge of production & value addition of non-farm agro products and related industry.
Knowledge in the field of value addition of agricultural products.
Exhibits proven capability in advising on food security and climate change policy issues and developing
strategies and ability to plan for development of the sector.
Experience in building strong partnerships among federal, provincial and local governments as well as
foreign countries and use experiences to the local setup development.
Shows ability to deal with complex agricultural sector, food security and climate change issues, both
systemically and creatively, making sound judgments.
Demonstrated capability and knowledge of rural economy and vertical and horizontal linkages with the
political and economic landscape of Pakistan.
Capability of working with Donors/NGOs and other non-state stakeholders to gain synergy in Public Sector
Programs.
Any other duty assigned by the Minister for PDSI/DCPC/Secretary, PDSI.
Tenure: Initially for a period of two (02) years, further extendable on annual (yearly) basis up to a
maximum of four (04) years subject to satisfactory performance.
PAY PACKAGE: SPPS-I SCALE
